OUR STORY · SINCE 2012

Furniture made in the North, built to stay

We began as a two-person workshop in Minneapolis’ North Loop. We wanted furniture that survives Minnesota winters, moving day and growing families — so we started building it ourselves, in solid oak and ash.

Today a team of 40 designs every piece in-house, works with family-run mills in the Upper Midwest and Scandinavia, and checks every frame by hand before it leaves the workshop.

HOW WE MAKE IT

One chair, four things we never compromise on

Take our Paper Cord Dining Chair apart and you’ll find the same rules we follow for every piece we make.

1

Hand-oiled finish

Plant-based oils and waxes, rubbed in by hand in three coats. You can refresh them at home with our care kit.

2

Natural materials

Seats woven from 80 m of paper cord; sofas in wool, linen and bouclé from family-run European mills, with removable covers.

3

Joints made to last

Mortise-and-tenon and dovetail joints, glued and pinned — no metal brackets that loosen over time.

4

Solid wood, nothing else

FSC-certified oak and ash, kiln-dried for Midwest humidity. No veneered particle board, so pieces can be sanded and refinished for decades.
